Hi everyone,

Am I able to download the SCBWI Long Island logo with the whale to use for my website? If so, how do I find the image? Thanks in advance for any and all help, have a wonderful day!  :flowers2

I would email longislandny@scbwi.org and ask

Be aware that the chapter is in the midst of a "new logo" contest.

What David said. Someone created the chapter's logo and they may have a policy on members using it. I definitely would not use it without permission.

Thanks David and Rebecca,

I will e-mail them and see what they say. I may also just wait to see what the new logo is. I thought it would be nice to show that I'm a part of the Long Island chapter on my website.

Have a wonderful day!  :flowers2

It's nice to see another Long Islander on here. I don't think it will make sense to put up a logo that's being retired. I'm not sure about the policy for using the new on once we have it.

Hi Debbie,

I just think that the logo with the whale is so cute, but I'm figuring out now that most people probably don't have their regional SCBWI logos on their websites. And, if it's being retired anyway...Thanks again Debbie, and everyone else that took the time to answer my question. I always enjoy coming to this forum and feeling so welcome.  ::-)

There used to be a badge you could download from the SCBWI website (prior to the web changeover) that showed you're an SCBWI member. I looked on the SCBWI website and can't find it. I also looked at my own website as I used to display it there, but I guess when I made changes, I deleted it. You might be able to contact SCBWI through their help desk and ask about the SCBWI member badge to see if it's still available.

They still exist. Go to your member page, click on My Resources and scroll down to "SCBWI Member Badges"

Thanks David,

Do you know how I can find out how long I've been a member? I think it's been five years, but I'd like to be sure before I download the 5 year membership badge.
Thanks again for your help.  :flowers2

Hi Patricia

It seems you have to click the Help on SCBWI.org and ask.

Dave

The whale was a contest winner when the chapter first split from NY Metro. I'm a little sorry to see it go, but I understand the desire to refresh too.

Thanks Dave,

I asked the help desk to let me know how long I've been a member. I think it's five years, but want to make sure before I download that badge. I e-mailed SCBWI and found out that when they have the new LI logo I will be able to download it and use it on my website.

Debbie, I'm glad you like the whale too! I'm sad to see it go, but I'm sure the new logo will also be wonderful.  :love5

Thanks again to all of you who responded, have a wonderful day!  :flowers2
