Hi Writers,
I'm attending the conference from CA because I now have a crash pad in NYC (my son's couch!). I'm ridiculously outgoing online, but I'll probably crouch in a corner and attempt a disappearance spell at the conference unless I have someone I know I'm going to talk to. Maybe that's you? About me: 50's, teacher of gifted and homeschooled kids, radio host/podcaster, musician. I write... almost everything. Fiction and nonfiction, kids and adults. My current projects include MG nonfiction/fiction, YA short stories, adult nonfiction, adult wacky fiction. I used to write poetry avidly till having kids seems to have knocked the poetry right out of me. What I'm looking for: A person or two to connect with who might have some shared writing/nonwriting interests. Someone to eat lunch with. A new connection out there in kidlit land. Feel free to email me. suki@sukiwessling.com.

I'm also attending and I look just like my photo. I also write everything and am in my fifties. I have published poetry, personal essays, leveled readers, works for the educational market, and one MG short story. I'm working on PBs at the conference but revising a YA novel at home. My kids are adults and both in college. I'm from Long Island, so relatively local to NYC.

I have plans for Saturday lunch, though you might be able to join us. Not sure what's happening for Sunday yet. If you see me, say hello and tell me you're the one who posted here.
